Make Your Car Look Brand New Again

There is no doubt that everyone wants a car that is brand new looking. You can achieve this just by doing a few things to maintain the appearance of your car.

#1 Don't neglect washing your car regularly. Instead of using dish washing liquid that can do possible harm to your paint job, go ahead and invest in a product made especially for washing vehicles. You can find a variety of choices at any local auto store.

#2 A buffer or car wax can take out any abrasions or scrapes that you may have acquired over the years. You can also go an inexpensive and less intense route by purchasing paint for any small imperfections. You will want to pay close attention to any warnings of how washing and drying your car will affect the touch up paint. There will be less of a chance of deterioration and rusting in the places where you have applied the touch up paint; plus, your vehicle will look much better.

#3 Harsh weather and road conditions can be combated with an appropriate wax to protect the paint. Confer with an knowledgeable associate at your local auto parts shop to find out which type of wax you should go with. Buying or borrowing an electric buffer is an excellent option if you are confident in operating them without harming your paint job.

#4 Tires and wheels need to be cleaned regularly. Brake dust and road debris can really gunk up your wheels, so invest in an appropriate cleaner. One of the most helpful tools for cleaning tires, believe it or not, is a toothbrush. Removing water stains is easily taken care of by drying to wheel immediately after washing. You can purchase a couple other products that will help preserve and clean: a sealant and a water repellent. No need to worry about dry rot with these products working for you.

#5 Break out the sweeper for the vehicle's interior. Even the mats will benefit from being pulled out of the car and vacuumed. Again, your local auto store will be invaluable in helping you choose a stain remover if needed. Stains will age the appearance of your vehicle, so removing them is highly recommended. Be sure to sweep out the car to take care of any bits of leftover cleaner.

#6 Glass cleaner will do wonders for your mirrors, gauges, dash displays and windows. Carefully apply and then remove the glass cleaner so that streaks aren't left behind to obstruct the view. If you need to, take advantage of your insurance if they provide glass replacement. This will take care of chips and cracks that age your vehicle tremendously. Don't neglect the interior of your vehicle; so clean up the steering wheel, buttons, gear shifter, handles and the dashboard too. Besides looking better, cleaning your interior will help preserve against the harmful effects of water and the sun.

#8 Lighten Your Load Empty out that trunk, sweep the inside and look for signs of dampness. You could have unseen damage and odors from mildew or mold. You can get better gas mileage by taking out all the junk you tend to store in your vehicle's trunk.
